Hi friend,
For those of you stateside, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. This time of year can often be difficult for many bringing up memories both good and sad. It's a time we often find ourselves reflecting on the year we have had and looking ahead to the new year.
This year Thanksgiving was different for many of us. In my immediate family we all spent the holiday at our own homes. Earlier this year, due to the pandemic, I had spent Easter home alone and that wasn't so bad. It's an important holiday but in my ranking not at the top like Christmas and Thanksgiving. This was definitely a Thanksgiving to remember and I can say it turned out much better than I was anticipating.
The day began with a video chat surprise from some close friends, a nice long zoom call with my parents, sisters and their families - it was so fun to see what everyone was cooking, how their tables were dressed, smiling faces and infectious laughs. (I really miss my family, we are very close and this year has kept us apart. We've never not been together for this long.) And the day wrapped with a surprise video message from dear friends sending me a song they wrote about our friendship - I had no idea my friend Mike played guitar! Needless to say it was a day of tears...BUT happy tears and reflection. I am blessed and so grateful for everything and everyone I have in my life.
And that leads me to you. THANK YOU! Thank you for your support of my designs and my creative spirit. I never imagined heading down this path as a way to express my creativity, but I am so happy I took that leap and put myself out there. I know each design may not be for everyone, but I so appreciate your messages, likes on social media, and support of my patterns. I LOVE seeing your versions popping up on Ravelry or Instagram. My heart does a little leap each time I see a progress or FO photo.
As we near the end of 2020, I have a couple more things in the works...and so many new designs I am very excited for in 2021. Plus a few surprises I'm on pins and needles to share with you...hopefully I will be able to soon!
If you've made it this far...I added a 25% sales to all patterns in my Pattern Shop through Monday (11/30/2020). Thank you! If you want a pattern(s) dropped to your Ravelry library - just leave me a note at checkout with your Ravelry ID.
Wishing you a Healthy & Safe Holiday Season!
xo,
Crystal
PS...I also wanted to share beginning Dec 1, there will be a Sample Sale page added to my site. This page will include hand knit samples and some other pieces of handmade work. New items will be added throughout the first week of December. And for the month of December, 100% of net sales will be donated to the Let's Be Better Humans Project. My talented photographer friend, Jon, began this project along with, The I Have a Name Project (check out on Instagram). This movement is meant to inspire change, instill optimism, bring awareness, and deliver hope to our homeless communities. More details to come.
