1. For best results, let candle burn at least two hours before extinguishing. This will allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges and result in a cleaner, more efficient burn.
2. Always trim the candle wick 1/4 of an inch after EACH burn.
Not trimming the wick after each burn causes the flame to elongate, simply wasting the candle by burning its wax too quickly.
A trimmed wick keeps the flame small and controllable. The candle wax doesn’t burn as quickly, elongating the life of your candle.
3. You don’t have to use a wick trimmer to trim your wick.
Regular scissors work just fine. If you don’t want to get your scissors dirty, simply break the sooty tip off with a tissue. Just make sure the wick and candle have cooled!
4. Recycle your glass when a half-inch of wax remains in the jar.
