Hello!!
The days are coming and going and we are heading into full holiday season here in the US this week. I am looking forward to time with my entire family and decorating my home for the holidays.
The other day I received an email message that has stuck with me - as we near the end of the year and each year I get older, I find myself often saying “I can’t believe it’s the end of the year already”…this also makes me a little sad. The words shared have me thinking of it in a different light…
“Rather than look at how fast its going, take a step back or moment and take in all the moments you have and you won't be sad that it might be the last one that's exactly like that moment.”
It is a different way to think, but it's also true and can help us slow down, focus and be present—to live that time, that experience or that conversation to the fullest. The point is not to leave us sad, but empowered. Curate your time and dive head first into meaningful moments, soaking in all the beauty and most importantly, the relationships you have.
So as we knit for ourselves, finish up gift knitting, share time with friends and family, and ready ourselves for the holidays - try to slow down and experience these moments. I know I will be working to be more intentional with how I spend my time and be present in the conversations and events ahead shared with friends, family and myself - and relish in this time together.
And if knitting helps you do this, I have a new sock design that may be just what you've been looking for!
Lithia Socks are knit with cuff-down construction, heel flaps and a check colorwork pattern around the leg. Both right and left socks are worked the same and could be worked together.
The sock design and name were inspired by a day spent in Ashland, Oregon walking the town, shopping and enjoying the beautiful Lithia Park grounds. And I was fortunate to have The Fibre Co. provide yarn support for this new pattern.
